A consortium of Milton Keynes partners was awarded £2.3 million from the Government’s Plugged-In Places scheme in February 2010. Milton Keynes Council and its partners will be working towards the provision of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at a variety of publicly accessible car parks, transport hubs and workplaces throughout the city. 250 public electric vehicle charge points will be installed in the city centre over the next three years, and an additional 2,000 domestic charge points are also planned.
Partners are working closely with local business to support the installation of charging points on their premises and to integrate the provision with work travel plans and employer pool cars.
